Buying direct from S.E. Wisconsin Hearing Center or Buy from your insurance 3rd party provider.

Purchasing a new hearing aid is a big decision.  Should I go directly to S.E. Wisconsin Hearing Center or use my insurance benefit and go through an out of state 3rd party provider.  Most insurance companies now state that they have a hearing aid benefit.  In most cases it is not a monetary benefit but rather a discount with a 3rd party company.  We are credentialed with most of these companies; however, it might be more beneficial to go directly with us.  Let me break that down.

Direct with S.E. Wisconsin Hearing Center

  1. Try before you buy.  We allow all of our direct patients to take a set of demos home to try out in their own natural environment.  We believe that this is the only way to make sure that you are getting the best for you.
  2. If need be, we allow you to try multiple brands.
  3. We provide our direct patients with lifetime service.
  4. We offer most major brands and all levels of technology.
  5. We have walk in service in the afternoon.  No appointment needed for cleanings and service.  This is a huge benefit for those that have dexterity or vision issues
  6. We test your hearing annually and will reprogram your hearing aids if your hearing changes.
  7. If your hearing aid needs factory service, we provide demos for you to use.
  8. We are family and locally owned.

Using your insurance benefit through their 3rd party provider.

  1. Must buy outright from a list of hearing aids offered by their vendor without the opportunity to take home and try in your own environment.
  2. In some cases, top technology is not offered.
  3. In some cases, you have to buy their private label hearing aid which has stripped down technology.
  4. No walk in service.
  5. No annual test.
  6. Limited follow up visits (Usually 3) within a year.  Afterwards, service charges apply.
  7. No demos are provided.
  8. No real savings in most cases.

We will be glad to discuss these options with you help you make the best decision for yourself.  We always work in our patient's best interest.
